Why choose Quartetto Solo?
Quartetto Solo is a unique and exciting concept that is over a decade in the making. A single, experienced classically-trained violinist performs along with virtuoso ‘virtual musicians’ to create the elegant sound of a full string quartet. These virtual musicians are digitally recorded performances of supreme quality of the other parts of a classical string quartet (2nd violin, viola, and a cello). Many of these parts are performed by professional colleagues of mine in a world class recording studio. This process of a live violinist blended perfectly with these sublime digital performances yields the lush sound of a live string quartet! This creation provides, for the first time, the elegance of live classical chamber music from a single violinist. If you are thinking of hiring an actual string quartet, make sure to ask if they will be using an amplification system worthy of covering all of your attendees. One of the most common complaints I hear about live strings is that the attendees could not hear their music unless they were standing right next to them. Acoustic strings are notoriously quiet, especially in the midst of enthusiastic party-goers. This is never an issue with Quartetto Solo.
A Local Boy
I was born and raised in Chicago. From Walt Disney Magnet School, to Lane Technical HS, on to Roosevelt University's Chicago Musical College. All of my training and experience has taken place in this fantastic city, so I am familiar with most of its finest venues and event spaces. In much the same way, I know all the nuances of my virtual musicians as I’ve been performing with them for many years. Familiarity is essential for a tight, polished performance.
Many music companies you will run across online are not based in Chicago, or even Illinois, for that matter. They are national companies based in other States that simply contract local musicians and take a sizeable portion of their earnings for their effort. This often results in a group of musicians thrown together that are unfamiliar with each other’s playing styles, and oftentimes it sounds like it.
Price
Although pricing should not be one’s first consideration when searching for quality live music, it is usually somewhere near the top of the list. Most groups don’t post their rates on their websites. The reason? Their rates are so high they’d receive very few calls. When you choose Quartetto Solo for your event, you get the elegance of sound that comes from a live string quartet, but you only pay for one musician instead of four. Imagine, live chamber music for your ceremony, cocktail hour, and the use of a top of the line wireless microphone and PA system, all for less than what you’ll pay most DJs to simply mic these events…
